CELTFEST SUNSET & STARS GALA

The Celtic cultures merge spectacularly in this CeltFest 2009 Vancouver Island finale, an exciting showcase of

world-renowned Celtic musical artists from east to west in Canada and around the world.

Among them are Champion fiddlers, dancers, pipers,

drummers, Juno Award winners--over 30 instructors teaching and performing at the CeltFest 2009 international summer school & concert series at Vancouver Island University during the week.

Usually sold out, this crowd-pleaser-- which has been widely acknowledged as the best Celtic variety show in the west--- it's not to be missed!

free admission to CeltFestival Club ceilidhs (concert/party) Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights at the VIU cafeteria and 1/2 price admission to the Ballagh Bunch Family Pub Night on Wednesday night.

Old Blind Dogs, mega-folk group from Scotland - Canadian Juno Award winning fiddler Pierre Shryer- Gold Medallist pipers Robert Worrall and Ken Eller from Ontario - 2007 World Adult Men's Champion Irish dancer and Riverdancer, Owen Barrington from the USA - Reigning World Champion Highland Dancer, David Wilton - Veteran fiddler extraordinaire from Scotland, Jonny Hardie - Ingenue Canadian Folk Music Awards' Young Performer of the Year, Emma Beaton - Master Uillean piper from Ireland, Martin Nolan - ever-popular BC "local heroes" Rene Cusson, Alan Walters and John Fisher Opening the show will be the full competitive corps of the White Spot Pipe Band from Vancouver.
